She had got married,so i was curious of what marriage had done.Without second thoughts she started..Life after marriage is a chore..nothing but a chore..you daily have a list of errands to run and the more you accomplish more the list grows ..its a never ending list. That's when the power of to do list comes into picture. She opened up her to-do list.well shocking it may seem but it did not contain the appointments she had to keep or what was the next big project meeting she had to attend. It was a simple list. one with things like
- pay electricity bill.
- find out about loans for house.
- make an appointment with the parlor
- buy vegetables
It was also time for her greatest advice for me...Always make sure you have something like "ME TIME".it doesn't matter what you do with it.but be adamant to set that time apart for your sanity.i don't do anything great at that time..My me time is to have half an hour to dress up before i leave for work or spend some time at a spa.Even getting a pedicure counts as me time.
It was strange to digest all that at that time.I was amused about her me time. what was life if you couldn't get time to visit a parlor.
Now i realize how right she was.It is so easy to loose yourself in all the mundane chores.Easiest tasks to let go when you want to do everything is your "me time".Everything about yourself can wait except your duties at house and work. Before you know it you have lived some ten, twenty years of life busy with everything and when you look back you will find your work, your family, your kids but somewhere down the line you have lost your self.
So lets make an effort..effort to take that half an hr off from our hectic schedules and splurge :) :)
